Attend a Concert of new music by composer John Zorn, created in response to the little known Swedish artist Hilma af Klints’ first major U.S. solo exhibition entitled Paintings for the Future. Af Klint (b.1862-1944), whose work was largely unseen until 1986, experimented with form and abstraction and was largely inspired by her involvement in spiritualism and Theosophy. The geometric forms and careful usage of color make for a collection of vibrant non objective works. After the concert roam through the rotunda gallery of the Guggenheim to view the exhibition.
